Outdoor adventures!

Wow, where does the time go?  How did these guys turn 5 weeks so soon?  ~sigh~  They've been enjoying daily trips to the backyard to see the great outdoors.  We've had great weather for that.

I keep a tissue box around to pick up puppy piles (the pooper scoper would just mash 'em!) Puppies think they make great toys!

...or just the tissue alone...  ;o)

New pics

Finally had some time to download some of the many (many!) pictures I have of the kids on my camera.  These were a few of my favorites:

It was a warmer evening so they were more spread out than they have been recently.  This is Halle, she's named after her great-grandmother, Haley.  She has a very kissable belly!  :o)

Mom and Hillary.  She's named after her great-great grandma Hilary.

Halle sleeping on mom, Hector snuggling with mom.

Hank was sleeping soundly when Hillary decided he'd make a great pillow.

Hellen, she was the last puppy born.  The story is that she saw the sign for spots
and she thought it said "Stop", so she did and ended up with lots!

When big dogs sleep this way we often call them "frog dog"
I guess this makes Horton a "guppy puppy"  ;o)

Busy weekend!

Puppies have moved into their new digs in the dining room.  Lots more room for them to run around.  I found a great lttle cat tunnel at Target on Saturday; perfect size for them right now.  They've enjoyed running through it and laying in it - and on it.... I also like to put in different things for them to walk on, right now that includes a flat aluminum sheet pan that crackles and makes good noises when they walk on it.  At first it seemed like they walked on it just to make the noise <G>.  Lots more toys fit in the pen too.  Looks kind of like puppy daycare ;o)

Puppies enjoyed their first real food this weekend too.  I've uploaded a video of it to YouTube:  www.youtube.com/watch?v=F8ZJR2uWTM8   There are a few other videos of both Tommie and Grand dad Hayden there too.

Field trips

I've been taking the puppies to a couple different areas of the house.  God bless Dave for being so patient.  He never knows where an ex-pen may pop up - the kitchen, the dining room - this weekend it will be on the patio and then on the grass.  All good areas to get puppies to experience different, safe places.

A field trip always has to include a picnic!  Tommie really has to stretch out these days so everyone can fit.

I call these shots "Belly up to the bar"

 Cute little puppy butt  :o)

Field trips really knock a kid out!

Teeth!

Their teeth have just started to come through their gums.  Poor mama Tommie, between their sharp little nails (everyone got nails done tonight) and now teeth, I feel for her!  She's such a good mama.

Puppies took another "field trip" tonight, this time to the dining room.  I pushed the dining room table to the corner, rolled out a section of thick plastic and set up an ex-pen for them.  By the weekend they will move there permanently.  No worries for those watching them on the puppy cam, that will move too although there may be a bit of down time while we bring the computer down during the move and figure out a good placement for it in the new digs.  That'll be later this week.

Where did the last 3 weeks go?

Happy 3-week birthday, babies!!!  They're walking and playing and wrestling and occasionally barking and howling now.

I call this series of pictures "Building a puppy pile".  It started out as the first picture that I was going to simply call "Sisters".
Then the green boy toddled over and made himself at home on top of the black girl.

Then orange girl discovered them and snuggled right up too.  I just chuckled and kept taking pictures.  :o)
Then the green boy found mom's lunch bowl and thought it was a pretty good discovery.  A few of them checked it out and decided licking the bowl was a nice change from mom's milk.
Their spots are really starting to show up well now.

Grammy!!

Now that they have their eyes open and are mobile - whenever I walk in the room and stick my head down in the whelping box they all come running (well, some stumbling) over to see me and snuggle into my arms.  I adore these little guys!  They're just the cutest things in the world.

Getting mobile

They're all learning to walk, they look like drunken sailors :o).  They all have there eyes open now, although some not completely.  They're sure looking around and trying to take everything in.

Happy two week birthday babies!!

Puppies pick the oddest places to sleep sometimes...

"Hi!!!!"

TommieMommy's having to stretch out some to make room for everyone at the same time.

Isn't this The Sweetest picture?  This boy's face reminds me of his
 grandpop Hayden at this age.

Speaking of grandpop Hayden, he likes to lay outside the whelping box, occasionally looking over the edge when Tommie allows it.  Hayden turned 11 last February.
